Lately I have been so attached to J-Rock bands and of course their music. And now I think I am now ascending to a next level which is what they call Visual Kei. It’s very similar to J-Rock since their music is also “rock” but maybe one thing they have different is their style. VK bands dress themselves like those anime characters we see – and I pretty much love it that I’m beginning to dress VK myself. One problem I have is my country, why? Philippines don’t have near shops where you can buy VK costumes or even when it comes to make-up. Since the Philippines is a tropical country and most of the time its hot here our make-up would tend to “smudge off” which needs time to time retouches. I don’t know if “smudge off” is the right term for it but I guess it fits the idea I have in mind. Another factor here is the people. People would tend to look at you even if its rude to other countries to just stare at you for no reason it has already become one of the habits Filipinos have. And that also makes me doubt to dress VK style especially here in Iloilo. People would go stare at you for like hours and make those “hey-look-at-that-kid-isn’t-she-kinda-weird” statements – which I really hate.
But above those factors I had stated I still wanted to dress like VK and I’m starting with my hair. Last night I’ve spent hours researching for the best VK hairstyles and ended up with like millions of pictures. I really wanted to have one like this:

But since we’re really not allowed to dye or cut short our hair because of the course I’m taking right now needs a tidy brush up do 3 times a week. So I can’t just cut it short like that one and I’m also worried that if I showed that picture to those working in the salon they might end up ruining my hair – again. I’ve experienced that a lot. So I tried searching for videos on youtube and I saw a video entitles “visual kei hair in less than 5 min” and ended up wanting this kind of haircut:

It’s pretty cute actually even without having the styles yet. Or even this one:

But since my hair isn’t that really long like the one on the second pic I decided to experiment on my own hair instead at least if anything goes wrong there wouldn’t be anyone to blame but me. So then I got hold of the scissors but a thought suddenly hit me saying “how will you be able to layer your hair without even having a hair razor?”so then I decided not to do it and maybe cut my hair some other time after buying those kind of scissors but hell I can’t wait any longer! So I looked for my cutter knife and a new blade for it and that’s what I used so now my hair looked like this:

I’m kinda not satisfied with the results but I think it would be something worth for this blog. A remembrance of my first VK hairstyle maybe? *Laughs* if it does look like a VK hairstyle. Then after watching videos on youtube on how to style my hair ended up like this: (though I must admit that I really don’t know how to style my hair and apply make-up!)
